World Press Photo Awards Ceremony in Amsterdam Maurice Lacroix handed over 20.000 Euro grant

(05/2011) Maurice Lacroix handed over the “Follow your convictions” grant, worth 20.000 Euro, at the World Press Photo Awards Ceremony in Amsterdam on May 7th for the first time. Winner of the grant is Italian photographer Davide Monteleone for his story proposal “Reversed See”. With this grant, the production of this story will be supported and further exploited. Maurice Lacroix is the official watch partner of the prestigious World Press Photo Awards Ceremony.

A glamorous evening event IWC Schaffhausen meets up with the stars in Cannes

(05/2011) As part of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, the Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen invited a number of guests to a glamorous evening event. Alongside Matthew Fox and Boris Becker, both Friends of the Brand, Swiss film producer Arthur Cohn honoured us with his appearance. Supertramp’s former singer Roger Hodgson entertained guests with his own unique brand of vocals.

The Manufacture offered for Auction a limited-series watch in tribute to the legend of diver’s watches: the Prototype N° 1 of the Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea, "LeCoultre Spécial Amérique 1959" commemorative edition.

World Class Sailors Tackle the Globe Jean-Pierre Dick and Loïck Peyron on Virbac-Paprec 3 win the Barcelona World Race

(04/2011) Monday, April 4th, 2011 at 12hrs, 20mins, and 36sec, Virbac-Paprec 3 crosses the finish line of the Barcelona World Race and arrives opposite Hotel W in the Port of Barcelona. Jean-Pierre Dick and Loïck Peyron, Corum ambassador, began their journey on December 31st, 2010. Leading virtually the entire race, the pair sailed from Barcelona to Barcelona in 93 days, 22hrs, 20mins and 36sec. The course passed via the three capes: Good Hope, Leeuwin and Horn – as well as the Cook Strait, putting Antarctica to starboard.

Official timekeeper and sponsor The Tour Auto 2011: Congratulations to the Audemars Piguet teams

(04/2011) On Saturday, April 16th, the 20th edition of the Tour Auto ended on a high note on the shores of the Atlantic. Audemars Piguet was official timekeeper and sponsor, and was also actively involved in the race, with six cars enrolled: four in the regularity rally and two in the main competition. All arrived successfully in Biarritz, the final destination for this year's race, after a sunny five-day adventure through Poitiers, Objat, Bordeaux and Pau.

Schnyder, the watchmaking industry has lost one of its greatest visionaries, while Ulysse Nardin has lost an important source of innovation for the firm.

(04/2011) Competing for the Olympic Games in 2012, Ben Ainslie – Corum ambassador – wins the Trofeo Princesa Sofia MAPFRE in Palma, one of the seven events of the ISAF Sailing World Cup. No less than 85 boats were facing each other in Mallorca in the Finn category. Winner of the Sail Melbourne in Australia in December, and second at the Rolex Miami ORC in United States, end of January, Ben went into Princesa Sofia in first place of the series but closely followed by his main British challenger, Giles Scott.

(04/2011) The celebration of the first serious downhill ski race at Crans-Montana, under the patronage of Hublot and the six communes of the Haut-Plateau, took place this Sunday, 3 April, in radiant sunshine, and was a great success. 60 teams (of 3, 4 or 5 people) - 266 highly motivated participants - took part in the Anniversary celebrations in honour of the pioneers of skiing.
