Dresden State Art Collections A. Lange & Söhne to sponsor the Historic Green Vault

(09/2006) As sponsor of the Dresden State Art Collections, the Saxon watchmaker Lange will support the world-renowned museums of this city, among them the "Historic Green Vault" reopened on 1 September by Chancellor Angela Merkel, the “Old Masters Picture Gallery” in the Semper Building and the “Mathematisch-Physikalischer Salon”, which also houses historic pocket watches from “A. Lange & Söhne”.

(08/2006) Within the framework of Great Britain’s GP Masters in Silverstone, watch manufactory Glashütte Original and former Formula 1 driver Christian Danner invited former Formula 1 elite drivers to an exclusive evening event that included a watch presentation. When Danner extended his invitation, (almost) everyone came. Of the sixteen drivers participating in the Grand Prix, thirteen arrived with escorts in tow the evening before the practice.

(06/2006) The concert of the chamber orchestra Carl-Philipp-Emanuel-Bach under the direction of Prof. Hartmut Haenchen, which took place on 9th June, 2006 in Dresden's Semper Opera House, was dedicated to Mozart and his contemporaries Kraus and Haydn. The impressive concert was preceded by an award ceremony during which the opera director Joachim Herz received the €25,000 SAECULUM - Glashütte Original - Dresden Music Festival Prize.

This watch was part of The Robert White Collection - the world’s largest privately owned collection relating to JFK’s life and career – which is being auctioned by Guernsey’s in New York from 15 to 17 December 2005. This unique and historic piece was bought for 350’000 USD, the highest bid of the auction’s first day.

Dresden’s International Congress Glashütte Original Wins Saxon State Prize for Design

(12/2005) The traditional Saxon luxury watch manufactory Glashütte Original was awarded the sought-after Saxon State Prize for Design 2005 during a ceremony that took place at Dresden’s International Congress on November 30th, 2005. Prestige watch manufacturer OMEGA presented for the first time in Tokyo its highly successful jewellery collection OMEGA Bijoux, which made its first international debut in Paris in April 2002.
