(11/2003) At 10 o'clock French time exactly, the 14 ORMA 60-foot multihulls competing in the two-handed Transat Jacques Vabre race finally set off from Le Havre to sail a direct course to Salvador de Bahia, Brazil. OMEGA ambassador Ellen MacArthur with race partner Alain Gautier had a fantastic start in flat seas and a good ENE 20 knot breeze.

A considerable crowd gathered outside the OMEGA Boutique at Bahnhofstrasse 52 in Zurich today to catch a glimpse of star swimmer Alexander Popov and wait for an autograph from the star inside the store before he gave interviews to the local press.
(07/2003) The Wolfgangsee proved to be the ideal venue for the Omega Classics 2003 from 23 to 27 July. In glorious sunshine, this regatta saw some very fast classic yachts from the first half of the last century impress the crowds and even some of the participants. Despite some of the yachts being both rare and priceless (the oldest yacht competing dated back to 1873), the competitions were battled out to the last metre.

(12/2002) Marking OMEGA's role as the Official Timekeeper of the 2003 America's Cup, Team New Zealand skipper and OMEGA ambassador Dean Barker was presented today with the first ever specially designed OMEGA Seamaster America's Cup Chronograph at the OMEGA Boutique in the America's Cup Village, Auckland. New Zealand's first OMEGA boutique, which opened its doors in October to coincide with the start of the Challenger series, will trade from the prime location of America's Cup Village until the end of the America's Cup 2003 race series next March.

(05/2002) Omega kick off their celebrations of the 30th Anniversary of the last man to walk on the moon with the arrival in the UK of the last man to leave his footprints on the surface of the moon in 1972, Captain Eugene Cernan. Omega ambassador Gene Cernan was the second American to walk in space as pilot on Gemini IX and one of a crew of three to venture to the moon on Apollo X.
