Change of ownership Altus Uhren Holding AG takes over Glycine

(03/2011) The Altus Uhren Holding AG, will be taking over the long-established watchmaking company Glycine Watch SA from 1 April 2011. The new CEO will be Stephan Lack. He believes in the importance of continuity. The owner of Glycine, Katherina Brechbühler, has decided to hand the company over to a new owner and to alter her career path. The new owner will be the company Altus Uhren Holding AG, based in Muri near Berne. This company is entirely Swiss-owned.

(03/2011) Antiquorum held a highly spirited and extremely successful auction of Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces on Thursday, March 10th in New York totaling ,460,162. The auction of 275 rare and collectible timepieces drew a standing room only crowd, in addition to 301 registered internet bidders and phone bidders from around the world. Aggressive international bidding came from countries such as China, The Russian Federation, Qatar, Canada as well as the United States. Strong prices were achieved resulting in 81% sold by lot and 125 % sold by value.

First auction of the year Antiquorum achieves excellent results in Hong Kong

(02/2011) Antiquorum’s first auction of the year “Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces”, held at the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong on Saturday 26 February, achieved excellent results totalling HKD 37'337’125. A remarkable 88.5% of the 452 timepieces offered were sold representing 132.47% by value. In addition to the strong in-room presence, the auction enjoyed active Internet bidding, in addition to the many telephone and commission bidders. International interest came from across the globe, including the United States, Spain, Japan, Macao and The Russian Federation.

19 watch exhibitors The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie enters its third decade

(01/2011) The 21st SIHH from January 17th to 21st 2011 will welcome 19 exhibitors, the same number as in 2010, in 30,000 sq m of floorspace at Palexpo, Geneva. The Beyer Clock and Watch Museum in Zurich will show some eighty of the most significant pieces from its collection, in an exhibition that traces the history of time measurement from the sundial to the twentieth-century wristwatch. A richly illustrated catalogue in French, German and English will accompany the exhibition.

(01/2011) The Management of Vacheron Constantin learned of the sad news of the death of  Mr Claude-Daniel Proellochs on January 8th, following an illness. The funeral will take place on Wednesday January 12th in strict privacy. Mr Proellochs headed Vacheron Constantin for 17 years from November 1st 1988 to December 31st 2005, when he retired.

New watch designs even before BASELWORLD Uhren von UHR internationalises Internet presence

(12/2010) The new Internet presence of the watch brand UHR from Baden-Württemberg has gone multi-lingual as of now. In addition to German, the Homepage is now also available in English, French, Spanish and Italian. This will also enable international watch buyers and prospective clients to access watch offers by UHR in their native language. The language version is automatically determined and displayed according to access point.

More than 1800 exhibitors BASELWORLD 2011 in pole position once again

(12/2010) The BASELWORLD 2011 World Watch and Jewellery Show is in the best possible position in the run-up to its start: the industry’s key brands will be presenting their innovations in Basel from 24 to 31 March 2011. The preparatory work for the new halls being built for BASELWORLD 2013 has also been successfully completed.

Six wristwatches of FP Journe sold for 0,500 Superb Results for Antiquorum’s Year End Sale

(12/2010) Antiquorum ‘s December auction of “Important Modern and Vintage Timepieces” in New York totaled a noteworthy ,506,675. A remarkable 83% of the 356 timepieces were sold by lot and 119% sold by value, based on the low estimate. In addition to the many telephone, room, and commission bidders, there were 419 registered internet bidders competing for the sought after timepieces offered in the sale. Bids came in from across the world including from Australia, Italy, China, Hong Kong, United Kingdom and the United States.
