(02/2011) Hublot is opening today at 692 Madison Avenue in Manhattan. Nearly 300 square metres - including a mezzanine for a more confidential salon lounge - completely dedicated to the world of Hublot. Our boutique enjoys an ultra-prestigious address, since the premises on 62nd are part of a historic Madison house dating from the 19th Century, and which is situated in a block encompassing the grandest luxury houses.

The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie enters its third decade

(01/2011) The 21st SIHH from January 17th to 21st 2011 will welcome 19 exhibitors, the same number as in 2010, in 30,000 sq m of floorspace at Palexpo, Geneva. The Beyer Clock and Watch Museum in Zurich will show some eighty of the most significant pieces from its collection, in an exhibition that traces the history of time measurement from the sundial to the twentieth-century wristwatch. A richly illustrated catalogue in French, German and English will accompany the exhibition.

(01/2011) The Management of Vacheron Constantin learned of the sad news of the death of  Mr Claude-Daniel Proellochs on January 8th, following an illness. The funeral will take place on Wednesday January 12th in strict privacy. Mr Proellochs headed Vacheron Constantin for 17 years from November 1st 1988 to December 31st 2005, when he retired.

(12/2010) Antiquorum ‘s December auction of “Important Modern and Vintage Timepieces” in New York totaled a noteworthy ,506,675. A remarkable 83% of the 356 timepieces were sold by lot and 119% sold by value, based on the low estimate. In addition to the many telephone, room, and commission bidders, there were 419 registered internet bidders competing for the sought after timepieces offered in the sale. Bids came in from across the world including from Australia, Italy, China, Hong Kong, United Kingdom and the United States.

(12/2010) On November 25th, 2010, Bernie Ecclestone was mugged and his Hublot watch stolen from his wrist. The very same day he sent the picture his wife had taken after the assault to Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of Hublot, along with a note: “See what people will do for a Hublot.” Since the two share a certain sense of humor, they soon agreed to turn the incident into an advert. It was to be a strictly one-off shot appearing in the Financial Times and the International Herald Tribune of December 8th and 9th 2010, only.
