Magazine for ContemporariesCorporate Magazine Momentum Receives Two BCP Awards
The Glashütte Original watch manufactory’s customer magazine Momentum - Magazine for Contemporaries was honored with this year’s Best of Corporate Publishing Award (BCP). This award is given out each year to the best corporate publications in Europe during a conference of the industry association Forum Corporate Publishing (FCP) in Munich. On Wednesday, June 28, 2006, the magazine was presented with first prize in the consumer publication category and second prize in the print-online category.
Momentum focuses on a concept that is close to home but also unique. The factor of time and its fusion with the rhythm of life is a topic that occupies all of us at every moment. Nonetheless, there is hardly a magazine that constantly immerses itself in this theme, especially not a corporate magazine. Momentum, on the other hand, sheds light on the topic with ambitious photography and articles by renowned journalists about the phenomenon of time in every important and fascinating aspect. Past issues have featured exclusive interviews with relevant contemporaries such as Nobel Prize winner Edmund Fischer, business expert Jeremy Rifkin, and former Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev. The interested reader will also find scientific stories, travels to other time zones, culture tips, and essays on the oddities of time as well as background reports on the history of Glashütte Original, a manufactory devoted to the development and manufacture of fine timepieces.
The traditional German watch manufactory Glashütte Original has immersed itself in this topic since November 2005 and now presents its newly conceived corporate magazine three times a year. Glashütte Original is a lively, authentic manufactory, standing for extreme exclusivity, traditional watchmaking since 1845, innovative mechanical masterpieces, and "Handmade in Germany."
Dressed in fresh, international concepts, this magazine is published in both German and English with a total circulation of 55,000 issues in approximately 50 countries. Glashütte Original makes it possible for those interested in time to subscribe to the exclusive corporate magazine free of charge with easy home delivery or to download it at http://www.glashuette-original.com/. Alongside the fully independent editorial team of the Munich publishing house Journal International, established global experts also write exclusively for the magazine.
A total of 542 publications applied for the BCP awards, more than ever before. While 130 made the final cut, 26 won awards.
