Unacceptable behaviourWatch author Gerd-Lothar Reschke blocked on Watch-Wiki
Trouble on the renowned watch internet site Watch-Wiki. One of the participants, the famous watch author Gerd-Lothar Reschke a.k.a „Gerd-Lothar“ was banned from Watch-Wiki in January 2009, due to gross violation of the internal rules. Apparently Gerd-Lothar Reschke tried to use the homepage, which is frequented strongly by watch lovers, for his own benefit.
In his watch blog on January 10th, 2009, he stated „A second massive improvement is enforced today: „The two watch wikis, the German “Uhren-Wiki” and the English “Watch Wiki”, are now relocating to new, much more practical domains“. This apparently was not the truth. Watch-Wiki published the following statement: „One of the reasons for this ban is among other things his statement published on the Internet that the English Watch-Wiki is now located on a new domain. The English speaking Watch-Wiki is still located here: http://watch-wiki.com“.
But the responsible people at Watch-Wiki made an even more intense statement: "Due to current occasion, we are forced to expressly state that Mr Reschke, as of now, has no legitimation of appearing reps. acting in the name of Watch-Wiki. Associating this statement with the Internet appearance of Gerd-Lothar Reschke and his commercial interest, one can only wonder about the specialist book author.
The user „Uhrenfreak“ on Watch-Wiki summarizes the point with his comment: „Copying ideas and names! No. A copy does not turn into an original even with the ending NET.“ The interesting books written by Gerd-Lothar Reschke are still recommended by TrustedWatch, but his behaviour on Watch-Wiki is unacceptable.
