BASELNEWSNew World Record for automatic diving watches now stands at 6’000 Meters!
The time has come: during this year’s BASELWORLD 2009 Frank M. Bürgin will present the CX SWISS MILITARY WATCH™ 20’000 FEET. The 20’000 FEET reaches hitherto unthinkable dimensions. With a water resistance of 6’000 meters this timepiece clearly is in a league of its own. The challenge of the dark, unforgiving abyss was answered by a determined team of watch makers and engineers, combining state-of-the-art technology with an innovative spirit.
Apart from comprehensive laboratory tests at the University of Southampton, the well-known Institute IFREMER and the renowned laboratory “Laboratoire Dubois” in La Chaux-de-Fonds several extraordinary real life tests have been performed. In one of them a 40-ton fire engine of Zürich airport, Switzerland had its 500 horsepower hose thundering at the 20’000 FEET. The picture shows the fire engine after the test, the 20’000 FEET is fastened to the steel construction. Apart from several firemen the airport ambulance and airport security were present, too. TrustedWatch.TV followed the test exclusively and interviewed Frank M. Bürgin.
