A constant stimulus for intercultural dialogue A. Lange & Söhne supports the Salzburg Whitsun Festival in the fifth year
A. Lange & Söhne has assisted in the realisation of an opera production at the Salzburg Whitsun Festival for the past five years. This year it was Saverio Mercadante's opera “I due Figaro”, which has celebrated its premiere on 10 June 2011 under the direction of Riccardo Muti and his “Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini”. Lange decided in 2006 to support the new artistic concept for the Whitsun Festival, which focuses on the revival of forgotten masterpieces of the Neapolitan School. This collaboration is based on shared values, in particular a passion for perfection and respect for the craftsmanship without which even the best artistic concepts cannot be implemented.
Over the past five years more than 500 customers and journalists from over 20 countries have accepted the invitation from A. Lange & Söhne to come to Salzburg – and beforehand to the company’s manufactory near Saxony’s capital Dresden where they can see for themselves how the brand is continually reviving its own traditions.
Through its sponsorship activities in the cultural sphere Lange demonstrates its sense of social responsibility and its promotion of the partnership of business and culture. In addition to the Salzburg Whitsun Festival, Lange also sponsors the Dresden State Art Collections, which have a close relationship to the cultural roots of the brand and which also provide a constant stimulus for intercultural dialogue with twelve museums in Saxony and various international exhibition projects.
