The strength of a tradition lies as much in its innate wealth as in its ability to evolve and be reinvented. Audemars Piguet vividly confirms this truth by presenting the Audemars Piguet QE II Cup 2011 Royal Oak Limited Edition wristwatch. This year’s race marks the 13th anniversary of Audemars Piguet’s sponsorship and to commemorate the special occasion of one of the world’s top horse racing events, Audemars Piguet proudly created this exclusive limited edition masterpiece.

Since 1875, Audemars Piguet has stood among the best in the leaders of prestige watchmaking. With its early development of the minute repeater wristwatch and its 1946's record breaking thin movement, the Audemars Piguet manufacturer has daringly experimented with avant-garde techniques and placed them in the service of traditional craftsmanship, which has been reflected in this special timepiece.

The QE II Cup 2011 Royal Oak wristwatch

The creation of the QE II Cup 2011 Royal Oak wristwatch fulfills the dream of watch-making devotees: extracting the fine mechanism from the cavity of its case to reveal it in all its splendour in an 18-carat white gold case bezel and 18-carat white gold sapphire crystal case back accompanied with the event logo engraving. The grey dial is designed with “Mega Tapisserie” pattern with white gold applied hour-markers with luminescent coating. The hand-stitched “large square scale” anthracite crocodile strap with 18-carat white gold AP folding clasp completes this wristwatch to boldly claim both absolute mastery of time-honoured artistry and unbridled creativity. The combination of brand, exotic materials, movement, and luxury detailing make this watch impossible to fly under the radar.

In honour of the sponsorship of the QE II Cup, Audemars Piguet will host a Welcome Party in partnership with the Hong Kong Jockey Club on Friday, April 29, 2011. It promises to be a memorable gala event with horse owners, jockeys and celebrities. In addition, Ms. Jennifer Tse, stunning model and talented actress, has been chosen to be the image girl of this year’s event. This perfect combination will be portrayed in all the event campaigns where Tse will be presented in eloquent fashion showcasing the Audemars Piguet QE II Cup 2011 Royal Oak wristwatch.
