21 international awardsA year full of awards for A. LANGE & SÖHNE
A most successful year is coming to a close for A. Lange & Söhne. With a total of 21 international awards it is in fact the most successful year in the history of the traditional brand, which was re-established in 1990. Since the presentation of the first watch collection in 1990, the precious timepieces made in Saxony have won more than 130 prizes, including 81 first prizes.
Recently, the LANGE ZEITWERK came first in the category “Complicated Mechanics” at the MunichTime fair, which took place from 30 October 2009 until 1 November 2009. It was elected as winner, both by the jury and the public. The same goes for the model 1815, which won both prizes in the category “Classical elegance”. At ViennaTime, which took place in Vienna from 13 until 15 November 2009 - shortly after MunichTime – an expert jury chose the model 1815 as winner in the category “Classical Elegance”, and the LANGE ZEITWERK came second in the category “Intricate Mechanics”. The election results were announced at the watch gala in Vienna on 9 December 2009 and the awards were received by the company founder Walter Lange.
Just about a month ago A. Lange & Söhne won the “L’Aiguille d’Or” (“Golden Hand”), the most prominent award of the Swiss watchmaking industry, at the “Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève”, as first non-Swiss watch brand. Lange watches have also been awarded in Germany, Mexico, Bahrain, Japan and Singapore in the course of this year.
