Bruno Maier to be new CEO of Rolex

Bruno Maier, who was finance director of Rolex since 2006, takes over as CEO of the Swiss company. The company spokeswoman Dominique Tadion confirmed that to the newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung this weekend. Meier has been employed at Rolex since 2005. The 54-year-old previously ran the Swiss branch of Deutsche Bank in Geneva and was member of the board of directors of German stock exchange. Apparently, the board of directors of Rolex was of the opinion that they needed a good number-cruncher now to get a handle on the costs again.

Bruno Meier will run the company business together with the board of directors. Entrepreneurs such as the wealthy Pierre-Yves Firmenich, head of the producer of perfumery and flavor chemicals Firmenich International SA in Geneva, Henry Turrettini, the managing partner of the asset management company Pictet Turrettini Pury & Co in Geneva and Jean-Claude Killy, former champion alpine ski racer and triple Olympic champion at the 1968 Olympic Games are members of the board of directors.
