(04/2011) Rolf W. Schnyder, CEO of the Swiss watch manufacturer Ulysse Nardin, has unexpectedly passed away on 14th April 2011 after a short illness. With the passing of Rolf W. Schnyder, the watchmaking industry has lost one of its greatest visionaries, while Ulysse Nardin has lost an important source of innovation for the firm.

(04/2011) Competing for the Olympic Games in 2012, Ben Ainslie – Corum ambassador – wins the Trofeo Princesa Sofia MAPFRE in Palma, one of the seven events of the ISAF Sailing World Cup. No less than 85 boats were facing each other in Mallorca in the Finn category. Winner of the Sail Melbourne in Australia in December, and second at the Rolex Miami ORC in United States, end of January, Ben went into Princesa Sofia in first place of the series but closely followed by his main British challenger, Giles Scott.

(04/2011) The celebration of the first serious downhill ski race at Crans-Montana, under the patronage of Hublot and the six communes of the Haut-Plateau, took place this Sunday, 3 April, in radiant sunshine, and was a great success. 60 teams (of 3, 4 or 5 people) - 266 highly motivated participants - took part in the Anniversary celebrations in honour of the pioneers of skiing.

(03/2011) Cameroonese soccer player Samuel Eto’o organised a charity gala evening for his private foundation on March 19th at the Visionnaire club in Milan, in order to raise funds for the Laquintinie Pediatric Hospital in Cameroon. Audemars Piguet donated a Royal Oak Offshore Jarno Trulli Limited Edition watch that was auctioned for 32,000 euros. Several objects were gifted by international sports stars, including Valentino Rossi’s motorbike helmet, Usain Bolt’s running shoes, the Inter Milan soccer jersey worn by Samuel Eto’o during the final of the UEFA Champions League, and many others.

(02/2011) The curtain came down on the 61st Berlin International Film Festival this weekend, bringing to a close ten days of movie madness in Berlin. As red carpets were rolled up across the city, Glashütte Original looked back on a very successful debut experience as Co-Partner of Germany’s premiere cultural event. From opening night to the awards ceremony, the Glashütte Original VIP Lounge and Showroom saw a constant stream of some 500 visitors a day. Among the VIPs who took Europe’s fastest lift to the top of the Kollhoff Tower at Potsdamer Platz 1 were German President Christian Wulff, Berlinale Director Dieter Kosslick and a number of the world’s most prominent directors, stars and film crews.
