CSIO Schweiz and Longines extended their cooperation contract until 2013
(06/2010) The 2010 CSIO Schweiz in St. Gallen last weekend once again proved to be a thrilling show-jumping spectacular. Under a sunny sky, the enthusiastic crowd was treated to many memorable performances and nail-biting competition. Longines, which was the official partner and timekeeper for the ninth year running, also used this renowned event to launch its new exhibition “Longines – Maker of Column-Wheel Chronographs since 1878”, which showcases select timepieces that reflect the rich history of the renowned watchmaker from Saint-Imier. (06/2010) For the fourth consecutive year, Longines has had the singular honour of being official timekeeper for the races at Ascot which includes the prestigious Royal Ascot week. The famous Swiss watchmaker whose slogan is “Elegance is an attitude” is also one of the sponsors of the Royal Ascot Fashion Show, which is held in the Bessborough restaurant. (more…)

(06/2010) When Academy Award®-winning actress and humanitarian Nicole Kidman visited Hong Kong in May, she took part in some high-profile activities in support of the United Nations Fund for Women (UNIFEM), arranged in cooperation with OMEGA. It wasn’t the first time OMEGA and Nicole Kidman had worked together on behalf of UNIFEM, an organization for which she is goodwill ambassador. (more…)

Lee Westwood wins the St. Jude Classic in Memphis
(06/2010) An Audemars Piguet ambassador since 2005, Lee Westwood has gained renewed success on American soil by winning his second tournament in the United States (after a first in 1998). He finished at 10 under par after the longest playoff in the history of the St. Jude Classic. The 37 year-old Englishman said: "It's definitely nice to win again. Nobody likes negative questions when you try to be positive all the time." (more…)

The Ladycat catamaran claims victory in the Bol d'Or Mirabaud 2010
(06/2010) Last Sunday, June 13th 2010, the Ladycat team of which Audemars Piguet has been the main co-sponsor since 2007 won the world's largest and most prestigious closed-water regatta. On Lake Léman this weekend, the fair sex prevailed over a number of great ocean sailing champions! The Ladycat, skippered by Dona Bertarelli and "manned" by a mainly female crew, won the 72nd edition of the Bol d'Or, crossing the finishing line well before the 515 other participants after 16 hours and 49 minutes of sailing – and almost two hours ahead of the runner-up boat.
