The Hublot Big Bang starts the countdown to Euro 08

Just over a year after announcing its partnership with UEFA EURO 2008 - which heralded the entry into the world of football of the first brand of luxury watches! - Hublot is getting ready to experience the European championship “live”. The contribution of the watchmaking company to football has provided it with numerous opportunities, and many personalities in this sport have been able to get to know the brand, which is progressing in their field. Many synergies and an increased creativity have arisen from these contacts.

First of all, the Big Bang “Euro 08” was designed especially for the event, and 2008 copies have been manufactured! This black ceramic chronograph has a distinctive feature located at 9 o’clock – a counter displaying 45 minutes, the duration of a football match half! The tournament trophy is engraved on the back of the watch and a green insert with “UEFA EURO 2008TM” is hot-stamped on the inside of the strap.

This is also a unique opportunity for Hublot to make an important gesture by renouncing the use of its advertising hoardings in the stadiums (the most important share of the total sponsoring budget, and worth millions of Swiss francs) and giving them to the campaign against racism. In displaying the message “NO TO RACISM” instead of advertisements for its watches, the watchmaker asserts its wish to share what it has received and to give another dimension to sponsoring. And another Hublot creation linked to Euro 2008 – the referees’ watch: designed and manufactured exclusively with them in mind. It was presented to them personally during their preparation seminar last April.
