The call of the open seaBASELWORLD 2013: The JEANRICHARD AQUASCOPE
Its robust cushion-style case, with a reinforced sapphire crystal and screw-down back and crown, ensure water resistance to 300 metres. The unidirectionally rotating bezel guarantees excellent handling and precise time-setting for divers thanks to its knurled edge and minute scale.
The hour and minute hands are shaped very distinctly; as with the large applique indexes, they are backed by a luminescent coating offering optimal visibility in water or in foam. The red-tipped second hand allows the wearer to quickly check if the watch is working.
Thanks to its ingenious design, the Aquascope sets itself apart through some very clever finishing touches – satin-brushed on the flat surfaces of the middle case and lugs, polished on the bevelled edges. This careful treatment of the details is enhanced by the dynamic contrast between the circular satin polish of the bezel and the vertical satin brushing on the dial. The collection also plays with colour in models featuring an aluminium bezel with dark blue PVD coating or black DLC – an original touch that is reflected on the surfaced of the middle case or the dials. The latter are available in grey, blue or black satin finishing, or in white.
To underline its exclusivity, the collection is driven by a high-powered automatically wound movement. The feeling of comfort, safety and the touch of style are enhanced by a stainless steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp. It also comes with a delicately streaked rubber strap signed JR, and a folding clasp matching the dial.
The Aquascope, an accurate, robust and resolutely masculine timepiece, has found the perfect ambassador in Franck Cammas. The French yachtsman was named “Sailor of the Year” in 2012. He combines a spectacular list of triumphs with outstanding human qualities. He won the Volvo Ocean Race in 2011-2012, for example. His resilience, his courage, his sheer joie de vivre and passion for the sea endow him with the ideal qualities to match this collection devoted to marine adventurers.
