Between yesterday and todayBASELWORLD 2015: The Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Vuelo
Havana moved to a different beat in 1882; a more leisurely "tiempo lento" that made time to savour every moment in life. Cuervo y Sobrinos brings this "slow time" up-to-date with a flight - "vuelo" in Spanish - between yesterday and today.
The Swiss watchmaker with a Latin soul has revived one of its vintage, 1940s timepieces and injected an elegant, modern feel into a completely reworked design. The complex construction of the case extends to the original form of the lugs, which are individually shaped and adjusted to be the exact continuation of the chronograph pushers. The three-tier dial presents a carefully engineered display, with small seconds and minute counter on a first level, the 24-hour scale for the GMT function, numerals and hour-markers on a second level, and minutes and seconds on a third level. All these functions are driven by an automatic movement, made in the finest Swiss tradition.
