Fly across the waterARMIN STROM Sailing Team completes with new sail
The ARMIN STROM Sailing Team debuts a striking new sail design as it competes in the Great Cup 32 sailing series across Europe this season. Led by top sailor and ARMIN STROM ambassador Flavio Marazzi, the GC32 catamaran reaches speeds up to 40 knots and appears to soar airborne.
The sight of eight teams racing across open water is breathtaking, making it an increasingly popular spectator sport. In late June, the team won the Bullitt GC32 Cowes Cup in England, winning four of five races on the final day.
The ARMIN STROM team's new orange-on-black sail design echoes the watchmaker's Skeleton Pure model in black PVD-coated stainless steel with orange 60 seconds register and "AS" logo. Skeleton Pure's steel case is strong but lightweight and the double barrel mechanism releases energy for a 10-day power reserve. Similarly, ARMIN STROM Sailing Team's catamaran's carbon fiber hull is relatively lightweight yet resilient as the wind and sail generate enough energy to lift the craft onto its L-shaped foils and fly across the water.
In the second year of partnership, the Sailing Team is set to race in Kiel, Germany, Rome and Marseille in the coming weeks as it vies for the Great Cup 32 Tour title.
