The Excellence Run stops at the La Neuvaz alpineJean-Claude Biver`s and his artisan cheese farm
Tradition, savoir-faire and passion are the three words that immediately convinced Hublot to become involved in the first edition of the Excellence Run designed to pay tribute to the Compagnons du Devoir (organisation of craftsmen and artisans), heirs to a unique savoir-faire, and to uncover the riches of an exceptional craft heritage.
On the 11th July, the Excellence Run stopped at Monsieur Biver's farm in the La Neuvaz alpine pasture. Armand Millasson, an armailli, or traditional shepherd, was delighted to welcome the guests and show them around the farm, where they discovered how he makes the wood-smoked alpine cheese for Monsieur Biver.
Conceived by the Parisian shoemaker Pierre Corthay, with support from the Edmond de Rothschild Group, the Excellence Run brings together 21 guests and their classic cars to travel across Switzerland from the 10th to the 14th July 2011 in search of personalities and their workplaces, with each day providing an opportunity to discover a place, a craftsman, a tradition.
True symbols of the outstanding craftsmanship and expertise of the 50s and 60s, the 21 cars involved in the first edition of the Excellence Run are magnificent objects, beautifully preserved and carefully restored…. Ferrari 250 California Spyder, Aston Martin DB4 Cabriolet, Ferrari 250 MM, Bentley Continental Type R… and many other examples of automotive excellence and attention to detail.
