New boutiqueA. LANGE & SÖHNE in Dresden`s new Twin-City Hanghzou
As from 16 October 2009 onwards Saxony’s baroque state capital Dresden is twinned with Hanghzou, capital of the Chinese province Zhejiang. The Saxon watch brand A. Lange & Söhne has been on the Chinese market for two years now and already recognised the economic significance of the metropolis with seven million inhabitants some time ago: Among the watch aficionados there is an increasing demand for the handmade timepieces from Saxony. This was reason enough for the traditional brand to open up a further exclusive point of sale out there in summer this year.
The new branch was formally opened by A. Lange & Söhne on 28 August 2009. The new retailer Harmony Hanghzou has created a prominent site for the successul German luxury brand in its representative shop in Pinghai Road 124, which is one of the most elegant locations in town. The Lange shop has a separate entrance and a sales area of more than 80 square metres. The new point of sale is held entirely in the style of the A. Lange & Söhne boutiques. Among their classic characteristics are coffered walls in typical Lange grey and typical Saxon materials, such as sandstone and Meissen porcelain, as well as a replica of the famous five-minute clock from Dresden’s Semper Opera. The founder of A. Lange & Söhne, Ferdinand A. Lange, contributed to the manufacturing of this clock almost 170 years ago.
In China the timepieces of A. Lange & Söhne are, apart from Hanghzou, also available in Beijing, Shenyang, Dalian and Shanghai, where Lange operates own boutiques.
