A stop in BielArmin Strom: Ian Williams Heads to the Manufacture
Straight after participating in the Alpari World Match Racing Tour in St. Moritz, on the highest level water circuit, the triple champion in the discipline, made a stop in Biel. In a watch Manufacture, where passion and the mastery of the minutest detail combine just as in sailing, to navigate towards success, the skipper was able to take a look at the different stages of the production of the ARMIN MANUAL WATER– Special Edition GAC Pindar Sailing Team.
Limited to 40 pieces, this watch contains an AMW11 calibre, which is embellished with finishing and engraving that evoke the theme of water and are entirely handmade. It is the culmination of a partnership between ARMIN STROM and the GAC Pindar sailing team, whose objective is to offer a watchmaking interpretation of the world of Extreme Sailing.
The occasion, which took place in a watchmaking environment, was a meeting between sailors. Not only because Claude Greisler, the Manufacture’s director has been a windsurfing competitor for the past 20 years, but also thanks to the presence of Flavio Marazzi, the Brand’s Ambassador and participant in the Star Boot class at the recent London Olympic Games.
Clause Greisler expressed his satisfaction at the end of the visit: “The presentation of the Manufacture provided the occasion to answer Ian’s questions. Since our first meeting, he has shown a lively curiosity about the subject of watchmaking. But what made these moments unique, was the way we share the same approach to living the challenges.”
