This partnership marks a significant breakthrough for the watchmaking industry SIHH and BASELWORLD to coordinate their dates from 2020

From 2020, the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva (SIHH) and Baselworld in Basel, the two major events in the watch industry, will synchronise their calendars. In 2020, the SIHH will be held from 26 to 29 April in Geneva, followed immediately by Baselworld from 30 April to 5 May in Basel. The calendars have been synchronised until 2024.

The RM 017 Tourbillon represents a new technical achievement, characterised by a movement baseplate made of titanium, with black PVD coating ; a function indicator specific to Richard Mille, and a safety system with blocking mechanism on the barrel. This new process avoids the spring being overloaded during rewinding. It eliminates the risk of knocking the escapement and prevents the watch from running too fast.

19 watch exhibitors The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie enters its third decade

The 21st SIHH from January 17th to 21st 2011 will welcome 19 exhibitors, the same number as in 2010, in 30,000 sq m of floorspace at Palexpo, Geneva. The Beyer Clock and Watch Museum in Zurich will show some eighty of the most significant pieces from its collection, in an exhibition that traces the history of time measurement from the sundial to the twentieth-century wristwatch. A richly illustrated catalogue in French, German and English will accompany the exhibition.
