Right from the opening of the 63rd Cannes Film Festival, the stars are on display for all to see, with giant portraits of the most attractive and beautiful famous faces of international cinema. A portrait of the iconic French actress Sophie Marceau (8.70 x 10.30m), more glamourous than ever, graces the front of the Hotel de Ville. Nicole Kidman, Jude Law, Ewan McGregor, Juliette Binoche, Kristin Scott Thomas and Diane Kruger adorn (in 8x10m format) the wall of the Cannes Riviera Hotel…In total 17 works of art embellish the most important monuments of the town and the Rue d’Antibes, which leads to the Palais des Festivals.
Jaeger-LeCoultre, a privileged partner of the exhibition, further underlines its commitment to photographic and artistic creation by displaying the exclusive portraits of Lorenzo Agius in the Jaeger-LeCoultre Boutique of Cannes from 12 May – 5 July, 2010.
Sumptuous, unique and sensual shots, taken by Lorenzo Agius, one of the most talented portrait photographers of his generation: "I have had the amazing good fortune to meet and photograph some of the greatest celebrities. For me, a portrait isn’t just about taking a photo, it’s about capturing emotions, why someone smiles, laughs or cries. It’s about who they really are, not just what they show. What interests me is the very essence of the person".
