As Official Timekeeper of the world’s toughest motorsport event - the Dakar Rally - Edox equipment has to perform precisely in the same harsh environment as the competitors and their high-tech cars - searing heat, biting cold, dust, sand and water.
The watches in the Edox Chronorally collection - worn by drivers and crews in the Dakar - also have to be tough enough to handle the most brutal conditions nature can dish up, as well function perfectly despite the rigours of bone-rattling terrain stretching thousands of kilometres. The 45mm Chronorally Automatic, to be officially launched at Baselworld 2013, blends ultra-cool looks (black carbon, all black PVD-coated dial ) with smart engineering to meet Edox’s exacting specifications.
Powered by an Edox Calibre 80 movement and housed in a robust stainless steel case, the Chronorally Automatic displays hours, minutes, seconds and date and is waterresistant to 10ATM (100 metres/330 feet). The carbon-fibre dial and genuine rubber black strap (with rally tire pattern) show the strong links with rallying and motorsports and the caseback has an eye-catching embossed wheel design.
