Limited edition of one, crafted in SwitzerlandWatchmaking art: The Tesla Skeleton Electric
Part of the series of ArtyA watches featuring skeleton movements, the Tesla Skeleton Tourbillon shows up in a self-winding version at Baselworld 2010. The famous machine sculptures of Jean Tinguely are once again celebrated through this timepiece featuring a Made in Arpa construction and design revealing a new and decidedly contemporary expression of the watchmaking art.
The skeleton movement, trapped within a case struck by lightning, appears through sapphire crystals on either side of the timepiece revealing the intricate details and the decoration of the movement. A tesla coil, copper wire coil along with electric resistances and wires of all kinds hold the movement firmly in the centre of the model. The oscillating weight is composed of four circles pivoting to create an attractive visual effect.
Yvan Arpa weaves the metaphor around the work of Tinguely, an artist who inspires him and to whom he thus pays vibrant tribute.
