In sponsoring artist Esther Shalev Gerz’ exhibition at the influential Jeu de Paume in Paris, Jaeger-LeCoultre pursues its patronage of contemporary art and photography. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s patronage of Esther Shalev Gerz’s exhibition is its latest in a long series of associations with major artists, which has included the shows, productions and publications of Cindy Sherman, Lee Friedlander, an Edouard Steichen retrospective, Richard Avedon, and most recently Tutto Fellini at the Jeu de Paume in 2009.
In this partnership with Esther Shalev Gerz, Jaeger-LeCoultre has also taken its involvement to new levels and has participated in the creation and production of one of the artist’s ten works on display: “The Inseparables”, a large-scale clock produced by the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre.
