He was not available on his 85th birthday – an old habit that Walter Lange followed again this year. Therefore, the Lange team used his Glashütte visit of yesterday to organize a little party and to congratu-late him on his great day in most lovely summer weather. "You are the bridge to the history of our manufacture“, said Fabian Krone to Walter Lange in his congratulations speech. Walter Lange himself expressed his two biggest wishes: "Health and that the com-pany will continue doing well in the future“. Together with Fabian Krone he cut a birthday torte with the face of the newest timepiece of the manufacture, the LANGE ZEITWERK.
Among the revellers were some employees of the first hour as well as the youngest generation of the manufacture, represented by the six weeks old Willi, son of watchmaker Heidi from the encasing department. And congratulations have been sent by e-mail from Australia by a young watchmaker, who is currently graduating one semester abroad at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University. He wrote to the founder of the company: "You have revived a tradition. You have set the stage for A. Lange & Söhne timepieces to get back to the highest level of watchmaking and that one can also understand time as a recurrent presence.”
