Glashütte Original and Audi partner to present special exhibits
From October 24 through October 30, Audi and Glashütte Original presented a special exhibition entitled “Watches and Wheels: Precision German Engineering” which emphasized the many similarities of the two German brands in a variety of areas such as origin, quality craftsmanship, and product features.
The exhibition featured Glashütte Original timepieces, such as the Senator Rattrapante, paired with Audi automobiles, such as the R8 while a watchmaker was present to discuss the fine art of watchmaking as it is conducted in Glashütte, Germany. Both German companies have Saxon roots and are global leaders in technological innovation and high-performance engineering. Glashütte Original and Audi exemplify fine German craftsmanship and the use of the highest caliber materials; both manufacturers have been praised by design critics for their originality of line and form.
The exhibit started with an exclusive reception with special guests from each brand and from Wempe, one of the host of the exhibition. During the following week the event was open to the public and both manufacturers were delighted to welcome watch and car enthusiasts alike at this special occasion. The event and exhibition were held at the Audi Forum New York City, a unique exhibition space on Park Avenue at 47th Street in Manhattan.
