Birthday in the Dresden PalaceTribute by A. Lange & Söhne to Ferdinand A. Lange
A festive evening attended by business leaders, politicians, and the media at the Dresden Palace was the final highlight of an eventful anniversary year. It was a tribute by A. Lange & Söhne to Ferdinand A. Lange, who 165 years ago established the German precision watchmaking industry in Glashütte.
More than 100 guests were present, among them Ferdinand A. Lange’s great-grandson Walter Lange who had revived the family tradition after Germany was reunified, Secretary of State Peter Hintze who read a congratulatory statement by Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Kurt Biedenkopf, the former Prime Minister of Saxony who was already a prominent guest at the same location in 1994 when the first Lange collection of the new era was presented.
