A true icon of contemporary watchmaking, Movado’s legendary Museum dial has a celebrated history. Inspired by the Bauhaus movement, this watch dial was designed in 1946 by American artist Nathan George Horwitt. He held that “we do not know time as a number sequence but by the position of the sun as the earth rotates.”

Before man devised instruments to track time, the ancients measured their days by the movement of the sun across the sky, and their seasons by the subtly shifting position of the stars twinkling in the night firmament. Highlighting this premier family from the Movado heritage category for 2011 is a trio of striking new special edition automatic chronographs. Each features an elegant 40 mm tonneau-shaped case with two polished chronograph pushers, crafted in smooth and satin-finished 18K rose gold – a solid 61.35 grams’ worth.
