BASELNEWS 2011Premier family: Movado Datron Automatic Chronographs

Inspired by the classic 1970 Movado Datron self-winding chronograph, the sophisticated new Datron line was unveiled at Basel in 2009. Highlighting this premier family from the Movado heritage category for 2011 is a trio of striking new special edition automatic chronographs. Each features an elegant 40 mm tonneau-shaped case with two polished chronograph pushers, crafted in smooth and satin-finished 18K rose gold – a solid 61.35 grams’ worth.

Protected by a curved sapphire crystal, the distinctive two-tone dial is available in black or anthracite grey with lighter silver soleil eyes, or reversed in silver soleil with darker anthracite grey eyes. All three versions are impeccably detailed by thin rose gold-toned hands and applied hour markers, a printed minute index, and contrasting round date aperture positioned at 12 o’clock – a tribute to the iconic Museum dot. Powered by fine 37-jewel Swiss automatic movements with 42 hours of reserve power – a sapphire crystal exhibition case-back reveals the intricately engineered workings – each is presented on a gleaming black genuine alligator strap finished with a polished 18K rose gold buckle.

The 2011 special edition Movado Datron Automatic Chronograph is water resistant to 5 ATM.
