Debuting at BASELWORLD, Timex presents a classic upgrade to the Timex SL Series™ men’s automatic collection – the Annual Calendar. Now in its fourth year, the Timex SL Series is an iconic and influential portfolio of watches paying homage to its sportswear-inspired origins, while adapting to the contemporary man’s penchant for the classic and sophisticated. Infusing ultra-refined and luxurious detail into a sports-inspired silhouette, this new collection is an increasingly modern interpretation of the original.
The 2010 premier of the Timex SL Series men’s automatics delivers progressive and classic style. Distinctively Timex, this updated accessory is crafted with special attention to quality and detail. Each timepiece presented features a 25-jewel automatic movement, a robust 43mm case with an exhibition caseback, a complicated and multi-textured dial, and is crafted with a stainless steel case.
A contrasting, textured dial encompassing multiple precise sub-dials at the “3,” “6” and “9” positions plus an annual calendar are bold new enhancements. A brilliant sun/moon sub-dial reveals a traditional design that radiates warmth while conveying day or night. The second and third sub-dials display the day of the week and a 24-hour time indicator. The collection’s signature ‘T’ sweep seconds hand adds further dynamism to the dial, while luminescent hands and hour-markers provide ideal visibility day and night.
Fashion-inspired color variations and embellishments are highlighted this season with the introduction of grey IP and rose gold-tone accented polished finishes. Both instant classics, one integrates cool grey-toned details with traditional stainless steel [need POC] for an understated and sophisticated look. The other contrasts rose gold-tone accents on the dial, bezel and crown against a black dial, rendering a richly emotional design. Both grey IP and rose gold-tone styles are available on a luxurious genuine leather crocodile-patterned strap with color-coordinated stitching.
The watch features an integrated sports-inspired stainless steel case and bracelet or genuine leather strap for streamlined and distinctive appeal. All timepieces in this series are 100 meter water-resistant.
