Silver MedalJaeger LeCoultre wins The Internationalist Digital Award 2009

Jaeger-LeCoultre and the International Herald Tribune have won a Silver Medal at the 2009 Internationalist Awards for Innovative Digital Marketing Solutions in recognition of their support for UNESCO through the “Tides of Time” partnership, alongside other prestigious names like Microsoft and CNN International.

These awards single out the most innovative digital marketing solutions at the international level. The winners are assessed using the following criteria: marketing strategy, creative ideas, digital marketing innovation, editorial content and outcomes.

Three-year partnership

Through its global “Making Time More Beautiful” project, Jaeger-LeCoultre is committed to supporting various local and international causes linked to sustainable development. With this in mind, Jaeger-LeCoultre entered into a three-year partnership in 2008 with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the International Herald Tribune in order to provide support for various endangered marine sites.

The first year of the partnership saw the implementation of some ambitious projects: eight sites were supported and public awareness was heightened with regard to the threats facing these regions.

This first year also witnessed the birth of the Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm "Tides of Time" watch, of which the “Number 1” prototype was auctioned for the sum of £13,540. All proceeds from this sale were donated to the Tubbataha Marine Park, which has been inscribed on the World Heritage List since 1993. This donation will serve to renew the site’s radar system which monitors the comings and goings of ships in the waters of the park.

The second year has proven no less informative with the discovery of eight new sites, including, for example, Sian Ka’an (Mexico), Everglades National Park (United States), Aldabra Atoll (Seychelles) and Venice (Italy).
