Patrimony Contemporaine RetrogradeVacheron Constantin wins the Watch of the Year 2007 prize

Yesterday evening, on Thursday 1st November 2007, in front of 700 people assembled at the Beau Rivage Hotel in Geneva, Juan-Carlos Torres, Vacheron Constantin’s CEO, received, on behalf of the brand, the Jury Prize for the Watch of the Year 2007 for the Patrimony Contemporary Retrograde Date and Day.

On receiving the prize, Juan-Carlos Torres said: “By its decision to give first prize for the Watch of the Year 2007 to Vacheron Constantin for its Patrimony Contemporary Retrograde Date and Day, the jury has rewarded and honoured the excellence of the horological tradition that respects the Geneva Hallmark. It has also honoured the technical achievement, artistic elegance and savoir-faire that Vacheron Constantin has transmitted without interruption for over 250 years.  I thank the jury for its decision and would like to share this prize with all our colleagues, but especially with all the creative and technical teams at Vacheron Constantin.”

A marvel of elegance and character and a pure Vacheron Constantin creation, the Patrimony Contemporary Retrograde Date and Day is equipped with a double complication movement that takes its rightful place in the new generation of self-winding movements manufactured from A to Z in the Vacheron Constantin workshops. Stamped with the prestigious Geneva Hallmark, the calibre 2460 R31 R7 offers hour and minute as well as retrograde date and day functions. The 18K pink gold case is a generous 42.5 mm in diameter. Its convex sapphire back reveals the exceptional finishing and the decoration on the movement that has met Vacheron Constantin’s most stringent quality criteria.
