A. LANGE & SÖHNE show the saxon art of watchmaking in Salzburg

As a sponsor of the Whitsun Festival, the prestigious Saxon watchmakers have now been a partner of the Salzburg Festival for two years. Within the scope of this partnership, the manufactory, which is truly steeped in tradition, has invited visitors to take a closer look at the world of A. Lange & Söhne during their daily exhibition that has accompanied the Salzburg World Fine Art Fair from 9 August to 17 August. The exhibition was staged in the Toskanatrakt (Tuscan Wing) of the Alte Residenz (Old Residence) and has granted visitors to the art fair and the festival the opportunity to admire large format macro photographs of the minute details of watchmaking perfection, to observe master watchmakers or engravers performing their meticulous crafts, to acquaint themselves with the current collection of exclusive timepieces or to listen to one of the interesting lectures on art and culture.

On 9 August, Dr. Edgar Quadt, the publisher of the Artinvestor magazine, has given a lecture on why he considers “Art the Ultimate Luxury Product” and how one should successfully invest in art. On 11 August, Prof. Dirk Syndram, the Director of the Grünes Gewölbe (Green Vault), has given a lecture on “Dresden – the Capital of the Baroque Era” and told of how the great princely art collector Augustus the Strong turned his residence into “Florence on the Elbe”. In addition, there also have been numerous other events at the “Lange Embassy” in Salzburg, including receptions for the friends and patrons of the Salzburg Festival and the Salzburg Festival Society.
