The Deutscher Werkbund, Bauhaus from Weimar and Dessau, the Ulm school—names that are synonymous around the world with the things that have shaped modern German design. The Tangente model from NOMOS Glashütte, for example, is often described as a ‘Bauhaus watch’: Its clear, reduced form is reminiscent of the design principles from this school.

However, it would be more correct to say: NOMOS watches are products of the Deutscher Werkbund, since the watchmaking company is a member of this well-known organization, which is in turn a precursor to Bauhaus and to the Ulm school.

Now, with the ten new watches of the NOMOS neomatik collection, it is more clear than ever before that the here and now has the upper hand: Each of the two versions of Metro, Tangente, Orion, Ludwig, and Minimatik could hardly be more contemporary with their fine details in neon orange and cyan blue.

The unobtrusively applied, rather eye-catching colors harmonize elegantly with the champagne or silver coloring of the dial. Everything is finely balanced, so that the neon colors do not appear shrill, but are a well-proportioned injection of energy. The dash of neon combines wonderfully with the masterful elegance of the new and slender neomatik cases - the resulting watches make the groundbreaking new movement inside recognizable on the outside too.

In this way, as it was intended back in the founding era of the Deutscher Werkbund, art and high-quality craftsmanship are combined with specialized, highly modern production. It was Berlinerblau that achieved the successful balancing act, ensuring that the watches would be more than just fashionable.
