Uncompromisingly sporty - in any time zoneBASELWORLD 2013: The DS Podium GMT Chronograph
Your success depends on precise timekeeping. The DS Podium GMT Chronograph stands by you, with its new sporty moulded-rubber strap, adding yet more character to those famous DS Podium good looks. Versatile and fantastically accurate, the DS Podium GMT brings you the double advantage of a second time zone and a 12 hour chronograph, in one very stylish timepiece to match your life on the move.
CERTINA's latest DS Podium brings you sporty good looks and the power of a precise, two time-zone ETA quartz chronograph in a brushed 316L stainless-steel case with beautiful black PVD detailing. With originality and brio, the oversized (42mm) case unites bold contours with select PVD accents for a totally sporty result. Bright tachymeter-scale numerals and the word "tachymeter" stand out in white against the black bezel, and complement the white/red dial elements shown against contrasting black dial areas.
The sapphire crystal protects a sporty dial reminiscent of motor racing instruments, in a layout which includes a twin-function counter for 12-hour (on black ring) and 60-min. (on silver ring) chrono timing in a single indicator, a small-second counter and a special 24-hour GMT time-zone counter with a silver-shaded snailed surface finish. The red central hand displays chronograph seconds against a brightly brushed sloping rim, and a bevelled date window is set inside the bottom edge of the small-second counter, at 6 o'clock for balance and visibility. The broad HM hands, red triangular 24-hour/GMT hand, indices and Arabic numerals are all treated with Superluminova for optimal readability under all lighting conditions. A sporty black moulded-rubber strap with pin clasp rounds out the DS Podium's no-compromise design―a logical addition to a reliable timepiece which is water resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (100m).
The watch is equipped with CERTINA's famous DS Concept, a reminder of which can be appreciated through the monogrammed "DS" on the tip of its protected crown.
