Baselworld 2009: early look at Watch Trends
This year, the World Watch and Jewellery Show is being held from March 26 to April 2, 2009 in Basel. The makers of Baselworld already gave an insight at some of the watch trends. According to experts, the trends 2009 can be summarized as follows: new watches are seen to feature anything that is theoretically feasible from the design angle.
On the masterpieces emerging from the manufactures, materials and techniques alike are being mixed, merged, combined and varied – with creativity knowing virtually no bounds.Also in 2009, big watches, in a wide variety of materials, continue to predominate, offering a direct view on their frequently minimalist-design dials. The predominantly round cases, often featuring square components, are both flat and elegant.
