Interplay of black, red and 21INCURSORE Black Jack Limited Edition made by Glycine
From the very first glance, Glycine's new INCURSORE Black Jack conveys simplicity and elegance in black. It's only when you look again that you notice the playful details on both chronographs, linked to the Black Jack from which it takes its name. The most important number in Black Jack, 21, takes centre stage in the design of Glycine's new twin watches, the INCURSORE Black Jack Limited Edition. The number is accentuated on both watches simply, but in a striking colour. The playful splash of red is in no way detrimental to the watches' simplicity and generous scale, so typical of Glycine. Quite the contrary. An exclusive feature is represented by the ace of spades depicted in relief on the steel back.
The most striking attribute of both INCURSORE Black Jack chronographs is, however, the colour – jet black. "Black goes hand-in-hand with large, masculine watches, and with Glycine," says CEO Katherina Brechbühler. Black has been a key feature of the INCURSORE range since the 1990s, and Glycine has now combined it with white and red, the colours of the 52 playing cards in Black Jack. "The game that combines readiness to take risks and coolness in equal measure," says Katherina Brechbühler.
The INCURSORE Black Jack Manual is a manual winding chronograph in a limited edition of just 50. The black dial with white, luminous features provides superb legibility, one of the key attributes of Glycine watches. The 3 and 9 are shown as numerals; there is a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock, the date display and a 24-hour totaliser at 6 o’clock. The 21 is accentuated in red on the outer scale. The INCURSORE Black Jack Manual runs on a Valjoux 7760 Eta movement.
The INCURSORE Black Jack Compliqué is the Black Jack manual's twin. The automatic chronograph with the Valjoux 7751 movement has a 24-hour display, permanent second, days of the week and month display, plus a calendar. Here the playful red 21 is accentuated on the white date display on the dial. The INCURSORE Black Jack Compliqué is marketed as a limited edition of 150.
The diameter of the mat black case in PVD-coated stainless steel is 44 mm and is identical in both watches. The ergonomically designed pushers follow the case line and emphasise the watches' casual yet elegant style. The watches are fitted with sapphire glass and are waterresistant to 100 metres. They are each presented in a jet-black wooden case with one leather and one rubber strap.
