Preview BASELWORLD 2013The FRANC VILA FVi Nº 8 Tourbillon Intrepido SuperLigero Skeleton
Independent watchmaker, FRANC VILA, is pleased to introduce a new addition to the Intrepido Collection, the ultra-limited edition FVi Nº 8 Tourbillon Intrepido SuperLigero Skeleton, which will be launched at Baselworld 2013. Featuring a skeletonized hand wound tourbillon and 100 hour power reserve, the timepiece is set into a grade 5 titanium case coated with black DLC, with an 18kt red gold bezel.
Housed in the second evolution of the highly recognizable FRANC VILA case design, the architectural design and construction of the watch reflects embodies the synergy between watchmaking expertise and contemporary design.
Visible through the sapphire crystal, the skeletonized dial allows the wearer to see the harmony of the movement and its impeccably balanced proportions. As part of the Intrepido Collection, the timepiece exhibits the same uncompromising aspects as its predecessors, with bridges made in a new generation of Lightnium - an aluminumlithium alloy which is half the density of the titanium and double the rigidity. This allows for structural weight reduction of the movement while being rigid enough to stand up the stresses of the barrel, the gears and the tourbillon. The frequency of the regulating organ is 21600 vph and is equipped with silicon escape wheel and lever. The dial is highlighted with red detailing on the hands, a bold contrast to the rich gold of the bezel and crown protector, as well as black DLC and strap.
The introduction of the FVi Nº 8 is the result of a long process of research and innovation during 5 years of work in concept timepieces, blending extreme technical prowess and performance, to ultimately produce a technically advanced, highperformance sports watch.
