ORIS AND CARLOS COSTE – A WATERTIGHT PARTNERSHIP

(02/2008) Oris have agreed an extension to our sponsorship deal with World Champion Venezuelan freediver Carlos Coste. Having fully recovered from injury in 2006 Carlos has an ambitious competitive programme for 2008.  This year he hopes to maintain his World Champion status in the Variable Weight discipline and also hopes to set new records in the Constant Weight No Fins category.

Final of the COMPETIZIONE DELL’OPERA

(09/2007) On 9 September 2007 the final of the Italian singing contest “Competizione dell’Opera”, which is exclusively sponsored by A. Lange & Söhne, has taken place in the Semper Opera in Dresden. The first prize, endowed with 10.000,- Euro, was given to the Korean singer Sangmin Lee. The 30 years old baritone stood up to the Russian soprano singer Anna Pegova and his fellow countryman Sung-Kon Kim (32) with his aria from Guiseppe Verdis “Falstaff”.

Prince’s Palace of Monaco reached 30.000 Euro at a Charity Auction

(08/2007) The precious collector’s piece Prince’s Palace of Monaco displays Monaco’s palace perfectly painted onto the paper-thin Meissen porcelain dial with the greatest craftsmanship. This unique timepiece was donated by the Saxon watchmakers for the auction took place on September 20, 2007 during the 17th Monaco Yacht Show. The auction result of 30,000 Euro goes to research for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Carlos Coste makes a timely return at the AIDA World Championships 2007

(07/2007) The free-diving world record-holder and watch partner of Oris Carlos Coste is currently competing at the AIDA Indoor Individual World Championships 2007 in Maribor, Slovenia. This will be his first international competition since his cerebral vascular accident last September whilst training to beat the no limits world record. The athlete is now in peak physical condition with the fitness to attempt to beat the dynamic Pan American record with flippers and prove himself as one of the best.

(05/2007) Breitling is associating with the ultimate aviation discipline by becoming official timekeeper of the Red Bull Air Race. Moreover, a plane flying the Breitling colors will be engaged in the competition throughout the season. Breitling and the Red Bull energy drink manufacturer have signed an agreement by which Breitling will serve as official timekeeper of the Red Bull Air Race World Series (RBAR). The partnership covers an initial three-year period.

Wearing the conspicuous 18th man shirt the rules dictate that Michael must not contribute in any way to the running of the boat but had the chance to experience what many sailors spend their lives dreaming of – having a place aboard in the greatest yachting regatta on earth.

(06/2006) The concert of the chamber orchestra Carl-Philipp-Emanuel-Bach under the direction of Prof. Hartmut Haenchen, which took place on 9th June, 2006 in Dresden's Semper Opera House, was dedicated to Mozart and his contemporaries Kraus and Haydn. The impressive concert was preceded by an award ceremony during which the opera director Joachim Herz received the €25,000 SAECULUM - Glashütte Original - Dresden Music Festival Prize.

(07/2003) The Wolfgangsee proved to be the ideal venue for the Omega Classics 2003 from 23 to 27 July. In glorious sunshine, this regatta saw some very fast classic yachts from the first half of the last century impress the crowds and even some of the participants. Despite some of the yachts being both rare and priceless (the oldest yacht competing dated back to 1873), the competitions were battled out to the last metre.

(05/2002) Omega kick off their celebrations of the 30th Anniversary of the last man to walk on the moon with the arrival in the UK of the last man to leave his footprints on the surface of the moon in 1972, Captain Eugene Cernan.
