The Countdown Clock OMEGA

The Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter GamesOMEGA has unveiled Countdown Clock

The clock's design is intended to capture and reflect the spirit of a dynamic and diverse region which is defined as much by its history and tradition as by its contemporary outlook. The clock's size, shape and colours communicate the contrasting landscape in Sochi which features both majestic mountains and the Black Sea. Other design elements include bold imagery that integrates designs that represent the country's cultural and artistic history.

The clock, when viewed from the front, counts down steadily towards the beginning of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games; the reverse side of the Countdown Clock marks the time to the opening of the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games which will use many of the same venues as their Olympic counterparts and will begin on the 7th of March, 2014.

OMEGA was the first company to be entrusted with the official timekeeping of all disciplines at the Los Angeles Games in 1932. OMEGA's association with the Olympic Games has led to more than three quarters of a century of pioneering developments in the field of sports timekeeping. Its Countdown Clocks have been among the most visited and photographed Olympic Games images since they were introduced in 2006. In 2009, OMEGA and the International Olympic Committee announced the extension of their agreement through 2020.
