The Longines Ambassador of Elegance and former tennis star Andre Agassi was in Paris this weekend at the French Open Tennis Championships. He held an autograph session to the delight of his many fans for the inauguration of the new Hour Passion boutique at 3 Rue de Sèvres, Paris 6.

Andre Agassi also had an opportunity to test the Longines Smash Corner at Roland Garros and spent a good deal of time giving budding players advice. This facility, set up in the Roland Garros Stadium and in front of the town hall in Paris, gives the public an opportunity to measure the speed of their service. Longines’ income from its use goes to the charity foundations run by the brand’s two Ambassadors of Elegance, Stephanie Graf and Andre Agassi, namely Children for Tomorrow and the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education.

Since 2007 Longines has been the official timekeeper for the French Open at Roland Garros. The brand uses this occasion to organise its Longines Future Tennis Aces tournament for international under-13 players. Moreover, Longines sponsors the charity activities of its Ambassador of Elegance Andre Agassi. At a dinner held on the Champs Elysées, Longines was pleased to present a cheque for US$ 50,000 to the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education. Set up in 1994, this foundation is dedicated to improving the education of disadvantaged children in the USA. Throughout the 2-week tournament at Roland Garros Longines has been closely following the progress of its Longines Rising Tennis Stars – young, talented tennis players whose careers the brand is supporting.

This year at Roland Garros Longines is presenting its Conquest Classic, a collection true to the brand’s values of elegance, tradition and performance which are echoed in the French Open Tennis Championships. Fitted exclusively with self-winding calibres, the models in this collection are at the same time highly fashionable and timeless. As the Roland Garros 2013 watch, the Conquest Classic chronograph boasts a column-wheel movement (L688) specially developed by ETA exclusively for Longines. With a diameter of 41 mm, this stainless steel watch is enhanced by a black dial.
