Sharing ideas for a common destinyGirard-Perregaux and the Nobels Colloquia

The "Nobels Colloquia" event was created ten years ago, based on an original idea by Giovanni Battista Vescovo – founder of the Promostudio International consultancy agency and the late lamented Franco Modigliani who won the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1985 for his work on domestic savings and the financial markets.

Aiming to create a moment of exchange on questions of macro- and micro-economics, this annual meeting brings together a collection of experts of international renown – Nobel prize winners, protagonists from the academic world and leaders of the private sector. The eleventh edition of the colloquium held in Venice on 1 and 2 December 2011 was an opportunity to further explore the debate on the globalisation of the markets and the current economic situation in the presence of winners of the Nobel Prize for Economics – Eric Maskin, Christopher Pissarides and Dale Mortensen as well as Jean-Paul Fitoussi, Edward Luttwak, Erik Lutjens, Andrea Boltho, Francesco Caselli, Alberto Brambilla, Edward de Bono, Michael J. Spendolini and Carlos Salum.

The Girard-Perregaux Swiss High Watchmaking Manufacture had the pleasure of supporting this conference, remaining faithful to sociologist and philosopher Edgar Morin's concept of "sharing ideas for a common destiny". Always keen to encourage initiatives that allow reflection and the exchange of ideas, Girard-Perregaux presented the participants with several of its creations.
