Federal Councillor Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf will be ceremonially opening the show. For the first time, BASELWORLD is being staged in the new hall complex designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron.

The 42-year-old Edöcs has more than 20 years' experience in the watch industry (Omega, Swatch Ltd., Versace, Milus International SA) and has proven experience in business management.
