Leading luxury watchmaker OMEGA has further expanded its presence in the Chinese market with the launch of its first Flagship Store in Guangzhou on 12 October 2004. In keeping with OMEGA’s illustrious tradition, international singing sensation CoCo Lee and Taiwanese pop star Richie Jen, both OMEGA ambassadors, made special appearances to help launch the store.
The new Flagship Store is located at the China Hotel, one of Guangzhou’s most prestigious shopping addresses and the home to a variety of well-known international luxury brands. The occasion was celebrated with a host of exciting activities including the traditional Lion Dance that marks all of OMEGA’s store openings in China. Richie and CoCo arrived in a convertible Maserati and were welcomed by a group of fans before officiating the Lion Dance performance. This was followed by ribbon cutting and toasting ceremonies, after which Richie and CoCo toured the Flagship Store signing their OMEGA advertising images.
Mr. Percy Mak, Retail Operation Manager of OMEGA China and Hong Kong, commented on the opening, saying “OMEGA is delighted to launch our 14th Flagship Store in China, this time in Guangzhou. Launching the Flagship Store is recognition of the rapid development of the Guangzhou market which is growing in affluence and is home to many OMEGA enthusiasts. The Flagship Store in Guangzhou will further our brand exposure in China and helps us to better serve the many discerning watch enthusiasts in the country.”
Similar to Flagship Stores in Hong Kong and elsewhere in the world, the Guangzhou store offers Asia’s most comprehensive collection of OMEGA products and retails the most exclusive OMEGA lines like its exquisite jewellery collection, Bijoux. The new Flagship Store will also serve as the focal point for OMEGA’s world-class customer and after-sales services in Guangzhou with an OMEGA master watchmaker present in the store at all times. OMEGA, with its continuous expansion plan in China, now has flagship stores in key cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, Ningbo and Guangzhou.
