Hublot presents its new WATCHTESTER display

(05/2010) The display case debuted by Hublot at the front of its stand during Baselworld 2010 was far and away the most remarkable attraction at the Fair! It enabled each visitor to see how a watch would look on their wrist, with a choice of models and sizes available. A revolutionary concept in exhibition display cases, the "WatchTester" is accessible to the general public and allows different watch models, sizes and colours to be tried out.

(05/2010) Swatch has expanded its popular Swatch & Art Collection with new watches by four contemporary artists and designers working in a broad range of mediums and styles. Indian fashion designer Manish Arora contributes a wonderfully colourful Bollywood-inspired ‘movie’ watch, while French artist, writer and film director Enki Bilal presents two Gents in the signature style of his many graphic novels and comic books.

(05/2010) The FORTIS B-47 CALCULATOR Automatic was the recent example of an impudent falsification. The case is identical in size and shape following the FORTIS original and houses a quartz movement. Altogether most characteristics are almost identical, such as the typical FORTIS B-47 CALCULATOR “watch face” with its turnable inner ring. The dial figuration is optically resembled, luminous florescence is missing.

(04/2010) David Weber is happy. He has cleaned and regulated the customer’s watch, fitted and aligned the spring, and checked all the adjustments. He has assembled the movement and rechecked its accuracy over the course of a test run of several days. Now he is putting the watch back into its case. If it had been necessary, he would also have filed the bevelled edges and renewed the polish. He is trained to do so. In 2008 he passed his final examinations at the Lange Watchmaking School with flying colours.
