The bestselling DS Podium series has been catching glances for years. In a brilliant reworking of the earlier line, CERTINA presents a stunning DS Podium Chrono that, in every detail, shows undeniable mastery. Collectors will immediately spot the various design harmonies in this revisited sporty classic. Tasteful contrasts between the finely brushed upper surfaces of the lugs and brightly polished sides of the case, in state-of-the-art 316L stainless steel, for example.
Further luminous interplay between the shiny lateral surfaces and the tips of the push-buttons, circular brushed for maximum beauty, next to a protected crown with the letters 'DS' over its polished tip.
The dial of the DS Podium Chrono has also been modernized. More open, uncluttered, it brings along a fresh new personality that will comfortably match any type of evening or day wear. While still decidedly sporty in character, it has gained a note of unambiguous luxury, adding to its great versatility. The exquisite harmony between different finishes on the tachymeter bezel give the new watch a distinctly sporty nature. Shiny, bevelled edges on the three counters (with two handsome snailed chrono counters), add fine accents to a contrasting black dial, safely guarded behind a sapphire crystal. Thanks to the DS Concept, the new timepiece is water resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 m). Indices, HM hands and Arabic numerals are nickelled and treated with Superluminova for maximum legibility, while chronograph timing is shown by red-coloured hands. A date window is neatly placed at six o'clock, for visual balance.
The updated DS Podium Chrono comes equipped with a brown leather strap, closed by a folding buckle with twin push-buttons. A second version is available with a silver sunray-finished dial, snailed counters, Arabic numerals and indices. On this version, HM hands carry a very light rose-gold PVD coating and Superluminova, and chronograph hands are in contrasting black. Further versions are also available, with either a stainless steel bracelet or leather strap, or a three-hand model, a 38 mm version or one in titanium.
