BASELNEWS 2011Majestic: The new Ebel Beluga in steel
Proudly living up to the majestic connotations of its name, its graceful silhouette epitomizes a timeless elegance that has made it a watch-making icon. Born in 1985, the Beluga has evolved steadily over time while remaining true to its emblematic design. This year, it radiates a new and disarmingly natural aura of femininity.
The new stainless steel Beluga asserts its unmistakably modern identity – its legendary curves express their voluptuous nature with dignified restraint. The model, accustomed to appearing adorned in diamonds, now chooses to unveil its true nature with no superfluous frills. Reflecting the attention devoted to every last detail, the alternating satin-brushed and high-polished finishes gently catch and hold the light while the supple three-row bracelet enhances the natural elegance of the dial. The hours are detailed by Roman numerals surrounding a central snailed motif featuring grooves evoking the endless waltz of time. The subtle double “E” for EBEL joins the dance at 3 o’clock, while the date appears at 6 o’clock. The faceted hands are rendered in a shade of blue, adding a final touch of classic nobility.
Perfectly suited to current tastes, the aesthetic reinterprets the quintessence of a timeless line, while displaying a contemporary elegance that immediately endows this new Beluga with due status as a worthy ambassador of femininity.
