BASELNEWS 2011Down to Earth. Terranaut III Trail.

Muehle-Glashuette brings adventure down to earth with the Terranaut III Trail. While the predecessors of the Terranaut family were always pilot’s watches, the new model is a sporty accompaniment for demanding trails on land: hard-wearing with stamina and a no-frills design. It is important for equipment to be suited to the demands of the trail.

As such, the Terranaut III Trail incorporates uncompromising features and design. The watch comes with a brushed stainless steel case (optionally with black PVD coating) to avoid even the smallest of scratches. The case with a screw-in crown is covered with an anti-reflective scratch-proof sapphire crystal. The transparent case back offers insight into the SW 200-1 automatic movement in the Muehle version with its patented „Spechthals‟ regulation. This guarantees that the movement is unaffected by any impacts or unevenness in terrain and the regulation of the watch is ensured even under the most challenging of situations. In addition to the typical Muehle rotor with its Glashuette solar grinding, the power reserve promises endurance, lasting 38 hours. A stop second feature and fast date correction complete the technical characteristics of this sporty instrument watch.

The Terranaut III also continues this „trail‟ concept in the design and colours. The sand-coloured hands, numbers and indices stand out against the black background, which is reduced to its most essential elements. The numbers 3, 9 and 12 are emphasised. This ensures that nothing detracts from the view of the date display at the 6 o‟clock position. The legibility of the time forms the focus of the design, as is usually the case with Muehle watches – even in the dark. The Super-LumiNova coating means that the exact time is clearly legible at a glance during the night or on shady terrain.

The design of this special timepiece is brought to a fitting conclusion with a black Russia leather strap with a stainless steel pin buckle. The sand-coloured stitching on the strap is a deliberate reflection of the colouring on the hands and numbers and creates a harmonious appearance overall.

And so pathways to be followed emerge. With the Terranaut III Trail, Muehle-Glashuette continues to pursue its direction of producing sporty instrument watches. This timepiece is just as resilient and functional as its predecessors in the classic pilot‟s watch style and develops the company motto even further: essential for every adventure, while remaining „down to earth‟.
